SugarData (sugardata.io) is an unofficial hobby project run by Yakov Okshtein ([email protected]). It is not affiliated with Dexcom or Nightscout.
What we collect
- Your Google account basics when you sign in: email address, display name and Google account ID. We request no other Google data.
- From a SugarData device, while its owner keeps the matching upload switched on:
- its status: glucose reading on screen, WiFi network name, signal strength and local IP address, memory use, sensor or Nightscout connection state, sensor session age, battery and charging state when supported, firmware version and uptime;
- its settings: data source, units, brightness, layout, time zone, Nightscout site address (without its path or token), G7 sensor code, saved WiFi network names (never passwords) and upload switches;
- G7 glucose history (value, change, trend, predicted value and time when available);
- screenshots of supported device screens when an owner or manager requests them, and diagnostic logs when the owner requests them.
- People: the email addresses an owner adds as managers or viewers.
- Bridge connections: the SugarData bridge chosen as a display's reading source, and the account permitted to make that connection. Removing that account's bridge access stops the connection.
- Settings you send to a device: a Nightscout URL or WiFi password you enter is passed to the device once and then deleted from our database; we keep only the site's address and the network name.
How it's used
Only to show a device's readings and status to its owner and the people the owner adds, to change its settings, to update its firmware, and to keep the service working. We do not sell data, show ads, or share data with anyone else. If the owner turns on the Nightscout-compatible feed, anyone holding that feed's secret URL can read the device's G7 readings.
Storage and retention
Data is stored on the 3000cloud hosting platform. Glucose history is deleted after 90 days. A device keeps its last 10 screenshots and last 20 logs. Unlinking a device deletes its readings, screenshots, logs, people and feed URL. Devices that were never linked are deleted after 30 days without contact. To delete your account or any other data, email [email protected].
Not medical advice
Readings may be delayed, missing or wrong. Do not use this service for treatment decisions; always confirm with your sensor's official app or a meter.
